Terenure College 150th Anniversary

Remembering our History

“FAMILY TICKETS” LAUNCH

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

On the 10th of January 2010, Terenure College will celebrate the 150th anniversary of its foundation.

The College would like to make this a time of celebration for the people that are associated with Terenure College in so many different ways, in order to recognise the achievements of the past and together look forward to Terenure College’s continuing contribution to Irish education in the years to come.

To this end the 150th Anniversary Steering Committee has drawn up a list of celebration events running from September 2009 to May 2010. It is hoped that there will be an event to appeal to each group within the Terenure College Community and indeed the wider local community.

As part of the fund-raising efforts to offset some of the costs of this ambitious undertaking, we recently launched “Family Ticket”. Family Tickets cost €150 and each ticket covers up to five people i.e. 2 adults and 3 children. All Family Ticket holders who purchased up to August 2009 are listed as Patrons in our Commemorative Brochure. Each ticket will entitle the holder(s) to the following:

• Free entry to Invited Guest Lectures – Total of four in the year by Éanna Ní Lamhna,
Senator David Norris, Seán Weafer and Andrew Trimble.
• Invitation to the opening evening of the Flower Festival – Archbishop Diarmuid Martin
presiding and preaching at Evening Prayer on Friday, 18th September. This event marks
the official start of our Celebration Year.
