Selling to the German Consumer

The €1.5 Trillion Opportunity

Germany is Europe’s largest economy and one of Ireland’s largest export markets. German consumers will spend nearly €1.5 trillion this year – easily Europe’s largest consumer market.

As part of our Access Europe Service, Amárach Research have recently surveyed 1,000 German consumers in order to identify key insights and opportunities for Irish businesses looking for a slice of a €1.5 trillion pie. Everyone attending the seminar will receive a full report on the findings from the research.

The research explores a range of issues, including:

• Top Irish brands in Germany and the preference for products from Ireland
• The main influences on German consumer spending
• Perceptions of Ireland as a holiday destination
• Purchasing behaviour and attitudes towards online shopping

During the seminar we will also hear from the Enterprise Ireland team based in Germany and from Kerrygold/Irish Dairy Board who are already selling successfully to German consumers.

It is intended to focus participants on practical ways of addressing the biggest market in the EU by overcoming cultural and knowledge deficit barriers and provide an opportunity for interested businesses to network and share experiences.
