Working Together, Munro and integrated working: the implications for the VCFS
The session will also explore the fuller implications for the sector of the Munro review and look at some of the developments that could help the sector to further improve its ability to respond to the challenge of reducing resources and growing demand. The session aims to empower delegates to participate and contribute to local arrangements to protect children and young people and provide early help.
Safe organisations, safe children: Core Standards and modular support for the VCS
The session will offer the opportunity to learn about the details of Safe Network’s Core Standards and associated modular training package ‘Safe organisations, safe children’, a unique learning resource which covers five key areas that impact on children’s safety, including: assessing your organisation’s practice for keeping children safe, safer staff and volunteers: recruitment, selection and induction, protecting children from abuse, preventing and responding to bullying and running safe activities and avoiding accidents.
It is designed to help staff, volunteers and trustees working within the voluntary and community sector put the Safe Network core safeguarding standards into practice and support the development and implementation of child safeguarding policy and procedures into everyday working practice.
Champions, Commissioners and Quality Assurance: details of Safe Network’s emerging practice from the North West and beyond
This workshop is a strategic opportunity for delegates to learn about Safe Network’s delivery models, that incorporate working with and through local pathways, including Councils for Voluntary Services, Councils for Voluntary Youth Services, youth associations and Local Safeguarding Children Boards, to help the sector to quality assure its work and access opportunities.
Target Audience Frontline VCSE organisations that work with children and young people, LSCB staff including Chairs and Business Managers, Children’s Services commissioning managers and VCSE infrastructure bodies.
