Its time to celebrate another very successful Retro Challenge season and while the numbers competing may be a little less than the previous year due to economic challenges, the competiton was even greater.
This year we are holding the Awards night in the Glen of the Downs Golf Club. Its owner, Mick Doyle, is a regular motorsport competitor and has been a great supporter of the IMRC Retro. The Raheen Restaurant is named after the ancient fort on the golf course. Its setting is as appealing as its name suggests, with views overlooking the picturesque landscape.
Glen of the Downs is ideally located just off the N11, and 25 minutes drive from Dublin city and 30 minutes from Dublin Airport. It lies between the villages of Kilmacanogue to the North and Kilpedder to the South. From the Northern end both the Great Sugar Loaf and Little Sugar Loaf hills are visible.
It was a great second year with many stories, thrills and tribulations to be reheard on the night along with the launch details of the 2010 Challenge by the Four Promoting Clubs.
