European Insurance Forum 2011
EUROPEAN INSURANCE FORUM - RDS, Dublin, Ireland May 23 & 24, 2011
|
Another successful event at the European Insurance Forum, this year's annual DIMA insurance and reinsurance conference again brought together industry leaders from around the globe. It provided first class opportunities for executives and management in insurance & reinsurance companies throughout Europe and the wider world, to discuss, analyse and comment on the nature of competitive threats and regulatory challenges we face in these challenging economic times.
With lots of media coverage (both local broadsheet as well as international industry publications) this year's sessions included the universally popular CEO's Forum; Environmental threats and impacts of the Green Agenda; Regulation Landscape - the view from Europe; Captives - the challenges ahead; Economic Overview; World at Risk: Reputational Risk; Employee benefits & captives; Corporate Governance - challenges for reinsurers; Innovative life & pensions products after the financial crisis
As we move nearer to 2013 Solvency II implementation, we further explored this challenging regulatory framework in all its aspects relating to the insurance and reinsurance sectors along with other regulatory frameworks and requirements affecting our industry. To this end, along with commentators from within the EU and Ireland's Head of Regulation, Matthew Elderfield, the 2011 event also benefted from contributions by regulatory authority representatives from countries outside the EU including Switzerland and Canada.
To faciltate our international colleagues and broaden our attendance from overseas for 2011 we moved this year's event to the later dates of Monday and Tuesday, May 23rd and 24th 2011. The event took place in the historic RDS Concert Hall in Dublin's Ballsbridge, which has been recently refurbished.
