Dublin Tenement Experience: Living the Lockout
We apologise for the incovenience but all days and tour times are now SOLD OUT.
We keep two tickets per tour for walk ins which are sold strictly on first come first served basis on the day.
Living the Lockout gives you a rare opportunity to see inside an undisturbed tenement property and get a taste of life 100 years ago in Dublin. Visiting Number 14 Henrietta Street is like walking into a time capsule: the house has lain virtually unchanged since 1913 and gives you an authentic glimpse into a tenement home. Here you will witness the impact on families of the momentous events that took place in Dublin one hundred years ago in the Lockout.
Dates: Thursday 4th July to Saturday 31st August 2013. Price: €5.50 includes €0.50 booking charge
Opening Times: 6 days a week - 10am to 12 noon and 2pm to 5pm. Closed on Wednesdays. 7 tours per day, each tour has a maximum capacity of 15 visitors.
Credit Card payments: The reference of the payment on your credit card statement will be WWWFOTAHOUSECOM. (Fota House is an Irish Heritage Trust property in Cork and we are using their online payment system for this 9 week project. We hope you will visit it someday too!)
This event is suitable for ages 12 and over. We cannot admit younger children, please bring proof of age. It might not be possible to refund tickets bought for younger children. The experience involves a gritty subject and is intense and powerful. In addition the actors engage with the audience in confined spaces. Children under 12 cannot be admitted and attendance of older children is at the discretion of parents.

We regret that we cannot exchange, refund or transfer tickets unless the event in question has been cancelled or rescheduled.
Group Tours: For group bookings of more than 10 people, we offer the 10th place free. To make your group booking, please telephone the Irish Heritage Trust on: 01 874 8030.

Retail: there will be some items on sale in our reception area - due to the temporary nature of this event we regret we cannot accept credit or debit cards and transactions are cash only.
The Tour starts at the programmed times and will take approximately 45 minutes.
We kindly ask that you arrive at precisely five minutes before your entry time as there is a limited waiting area. We regret that we cannot admit late arrivals as the performance will have begun. We will try our best to accommodate you in a later tour - but this cannot be guaranteed.
Use of photographic and recording equipment is not permitted during performances. Mobile phones and pagers must be turned off.
Safety: Please remember this event takes place in a wonderful historic property that is undergoing conservation work. To open a special property such as this to visitors is unique and we sincerely hope your experience at Number 14 is enjoyable. We’ve made it as safe as possible but please be aware that it is not a purpose built visitor facility and we ask that you take care because the floors are uneven, the walls and doorways are rough and may contain nails and splinters. We are grateful for your support in ensuring your safety and that of the building.
Your admission ticket for the Dublin Tenement Experience also includes an interpretive leaflet.
The management reserves the right to refuse admission or to eject a ticket holder without refund for behaviour likely to cause damage, injury or nuisance, and to remove any person(s) for reasons of public safety, overcrowding or otherwise, as the management will have no liability for any damage or loss, consequential or otherwise, save that the management will refund to the owner of a valid ticket the face value of the ticket.
