Invitation
Ireland is committed to sourcing 16% of its energy supply from renewables by 2020 under the National
Renewable Action Plan. To this end, IrBEA invites you to attend its annual conference where a panel of
experts will debate on how bioenergy can help to achieve these targets, and how meeting these targets
will benefit the economy through job creation, enhancing the rural economy, better balance of trade and
increasing our competitiveness through lower costs.
IrBEA, with the support of SEAI commissioned an independent study into the socio economic benefits
of bioenergy in June of 2011, we are delighted to have Minister Pat Rabbitte open the conference and
officially launch the report. By meeting the modest 2020 targets, BioEnergy can create over 3,600 permanent positions, with the potential to exceed these numbers as the targets are exceeded.
REFIT III, the Renewable Energy Feed In Tarriff to support BioEnergy has recently been passed by the
EU and by government. We now expect to see considerable development in this area. We have arranged speakers on Project Finance and are preparing a session on other factors such as power purchase agreements, REFIT and HE-CHP. The conference will give attendees the opportunity to tap into IrBEA’s network of project developers, financers, policy makers, technology providers and engineering and planning consultants.
Trade Stands
We are now taking bookings for trade stands at the event. The cost of a trade stand is €350, which includes entry for two delegates to the conference, lunch and refreshments.
