Diamond Quest Ireland

Since 2003 the African Schools Trust charity has been supporting 1000 disadvantaged children and teachers from 4 schools in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya with food daily. Previously many children wouldn’t have gone to school as finding food would have been their main aim of the day. The charity has supplied books and teaching aids, paid teachers’ salaries, improved the school buildings, bought school land and contributed to the building of a school.
African Schools Trust is a small charity run voluntarily by Nick Stock (Kenyan developer) and Lucy Jaffa (Belfast dentist). The charity has minimal overheads, no employees and the quarterly school inspection trips are privately funded.
The profits from Diamond Quest Ireland will go towards the food programme for the forthcoming year. The lunches have improved the pupils’ attendance, concentration, exam results and health.
