Wildlife and Conservation: The Volunteer in You
|
Question: What do you get when you bring together an award winning travel writer and author, an African game warden and a volunteer/scientist?
Answer: A knowledgeable, experienced and passionate panel of speakers who will tell you about their lives and help you make informed decisions about how you can enrich your own life and have a positive impact on WILDLIFE and COMMUNITY CONSERVATION.
This panel style presentation aims to offer experiences and advice to those who may have toyed with the idea of VOLUNTEERING in the past but just get swamped by the amount of information available to them. With more and more people looking to book volunteer ‘holidays’, we ask a highly regarded African Game Warden (Chris Bakkes), Award-winning travel writer and author of Bradt’s Guide to Wildlife and Conservation Volunteering (Peter Lynch) and an Earthwatch Institute Volunteer to give us an insight in to their experiences and discuss their views on this growing trend.
Doors open at 6.00pm for a welcome drink in the Brunei Suite prior to a 6.30pm speaker start in the Lecture Theatre.
There will be an interval at about 7.15pm.
The panelists will happily answer questions and try to help with queries during the event and after.
"Follow your dreams - as a volunteer you too can truly help make a world of difference to saving wildlife."
David Shepherd CBE, Wildlife artist and conservationalist in his forward to Bradt's Complete Guide to Wildlife and Conservation Volunteering.
