We have all experienced racism in one form or the other, we have all made racist remarks, comments and jokes intentionally or unintentionally either way the damages has been done to the individual and to the society. Almost every person of minority in this country whether they be a minority by race, creed, or belief experiences racism on a daily basis.
On March 23rd come join us in the fight against Racism and discrimination at this fashion forward event. Fashion Against Racism will create a platform for local and national fashion designers, fashion enthusiasts, models, hair & make-up artists, photographers, media and all to come together and use their unique gifts to serve the city, celebrate differences and connect with one another to build a community of love and hope.
A cocktail, canapes reception and luxury silent auction will begin at 6:00 p.m and a runway presentation will be held at 7:45pm with men's and women's looks from various designer collections. All proceeds of the raffle will be donated to 2 charities: Show Racism the Red Card and The National Breast Cancer Research Institute.
The first European-wide Action Week Against Racism was held on the 21st of March 1993, organised by UNITED. The aim of the European-wide Action Week Against Racism is to create public attention by stimulating and integrating different activities under the umbrella of a common campaign. The campaign activities are organised by independent organisations and groups all over Europe.Catwalk Against Racism is one of the many activities as part of the global European-wide Action Week Against Racism.
