The Mathematical Association is organising a “hands on” professional development day for secondary mathematics teachers to focus on developing the use of ICT, particularly to support maths topics that are considered hard to teach!

In a project funded by BECTa (and carried out in collaboration with the Association of Teachers of Mathematics), teachers were invited to submit their own examples of ICT use and this has resulted in some innovative, exciting and achievable lesson ideas. Rather than just tell you about their lessons, the teachers have agreed to lead a selection hands-on workshops to help you to develop your own ICT confidence and competence with a range of mathematics software and gadgets! These workshops will be supported by members of the MA and ATM project team.

You will need to bring a fully charged laptop and, where possible, ensure you have preloaded the mathematics software needed to enable you to participate fully in the workshop. You will receive an email before the event that will direct you to some download sites to obtain free and trial software and resources that may be needed for the workshops.
