Irish Association of Barbershop Singers National & International Convention 2010

Below are details for the Joan Kelly Memorial Entertainment Competition, taking place in the University Concert Hall on Friday 1st October.

We are inviting all acappella groups, including quartets & choruses participating in our National & International Competitions to enter our evening Entertainment competition.  This is the second year IABS are running this event.  In 2009, its inaugural year it was a very successful evening.  This year it will form an important part of the overall Convention weekend.

2009 Winners

1st Place - Ireland Unlimited

Joint 2nd Place - Dale Diva and Fahrenheit

A few small rules apply:

• Each group will perform for a maximum of 7 minutes
• Minimum 4 people performing
• The key aim is to entertain
• No instruments
• Props are allowed

The evening will commence at 8pm for approximately 2 hours.

Our judging panel is made up of 3 judges-  the Head of RTE Lyric FM, Absolut quartet (acting as a single judge) and a third mystery Guest Judge.
