Creating a contacts list

EventElephant makes it really easy to create a contacts list of people you want to invite to your event, send reminders to, or just keep in touch with.

You can import your existing contact lists from Excel or via CSV files, and you can quickly add new contacts on an ongoing basis. Just follow the step-by-step instructions.

You can save contacts as individuals or as groups. For example, you may want to divide your contacts into separate groups for each event; or create a group of marketing managers that you want to invite to all your events; or create a group of friends that you want to invite to a party or reunion.

‘Opt in’ functionality
You can record if a contact has opted-in to receiving your marketing mailouts. This ensures you keep on the right side of the Data Protection Act.

You can search and filter your contacts by surname, or by those who have ‘opted in’ or given you permission to contact them.

How to create new contact lists
You can create new contact lists in three areas of EventElephant.

1

In My Database, you can add new contacts to all your events or to any specific group already created.

Or you can start a completely new group from scratch.

From My Database, you can also import and upload contacts by browsing your desktop or other databases.

2

In the Event Control Area, you can add new contacts for individual events by clicking ‘Contacts’ at the top of the page.

3

In the Event Control Area you can also add contacts from your database to a mailing list for a specific event.

Click ‘Assign contacts to this event’ and you’ll see all the names in your database. To add them to your chosen mailing group, highlight and select the contacts you want to import and then click ‘Add’.
