Absorb the credit card fee into the ticket price

If you are organising events where attendees and guests have to pay a ticket price – you currently have the choice to add the Attendee Management Fee, the 4.75%, to the ticket price or to subtract it from the price.

We have now extended this functionality to apply to the credit card transaction fee of 2.5%. This will give the event organiser the option to absorb the credit card fee into the overall ticket price or to add it on top of the ticket price.

If you decide to add the credit card fee to the ticket price then the person who is paying by credit card will be charged the credit card fee.

You set up this functionality in the ‘create an event’ wizard: Set up attendee ticket options.

Depending on whether you have decided to absorb the credit card fee into the ticket price or not, you will see that the new functionality has also been automatically applied to other connected parts of EventElephant such as:

The Registration website - The ticket price will now show the sum of the AMF and Credit Card Fees on the registration website.

The Booking Summary and Payment Confirmation Screens - Will now include a new row called credit card fee, for example:

Event Ticket Fee (exc VAT)	€50.00
Attendee Management Fee	€ 2.38 (4.75%)
Credit Card Fee	€ 1.25 (2.5%)
VAT	€ 11.26 (21.50%)
Total Fee	€64.89

Note: VAT is not applied to the Credit Card Fee.

Confirmation Emails - The booking confirmation emails and the Payment confirmation emails that are sent to attendees who have bought tickets, will also contain a new row called ‘Credit Card Fee’, as above.
